Community
A large part of my work involves our Walking for Wellbeing groups. These take place 4 times a week, 52 weeks a year. Our walks are free of charge and for all abilities and all age ranges.
See the events page for times and locations of our walks:

What it means for our walkers
“The walks have literally saved me. I was in a dark place and was scared to join any groups but Shawn made me feel very comfortable. I absolutely love them. It’s one of the best things I have done for my mental health.”
“The walks have provided routine, exercise and friendly chat, exactly what I needed when in a dark place earlier this year. I look forward to the walks each week and they have been a key part of my improved mental health.”
“I originally joined to aid my recovery from knee surgery. What I found was a wonderfully friendly group of people led by Shawn who is so welcoming to all. “
“Shawn has given so many of us a reason to get out into nature for a walk, which is therapeutic to all, physically and mentally. His work is essential to creating a wonderfully supportive community”
“It was a big thing for me to take the plunge to join the walking group but I’m so pleased I did. Shawn takes us on some beautiful walks and is so encouraging and great with everyone.”
“I no longer walk with Shawn’s group, and that’s because the group helped me improve my mental health to such a level that I am now able to work full time. This would not have been possible without walking and interacting with the group members and Shawn, at least once a week.”
“Shawn’s walks have given us the opportunity to meet new people and talk about many things along the way. Shawn is ever present, all including and a great motivator if one is feeling down. He takes care to see everyone is catered for taking into account any physical restrictions.”
